The drone of the machines stopped
Times Square became dark
the Big Apple took a nap
and Big Brother stepped out to get
a cup of coffee.
The ocean turned stagnant
the world drew in a large breath
and held it til her face turned red.
the Man turned a deaf ear
the Capital grew silent
someone dropped a coin in Rome
and the deafening clap soon reached Russia.
The party 'round the world stopped
